Argali Records Netlabel Presents:
“ATTENTION K-MART SHOPPERS”
(“Maximum Convenience For The Discerning Listener”)

After careful thought and consideration, this unusual idea is going forward. Argali Records is compiling a collection of tracks featuring experimental music that should include at least one sample (and preferably many) from the “Attention K-Mart Shoppers” ephemeral field recording/music collection that was released on Archive.org a few months ago (the collection can be accessed here: https://archive.org/details/attentionkmartshoppers). While we have no specific genre restrictions, we do ask that there be at least one part of the “Attention…” collection in the composition. This idea originated from discussions regarding the creation of and reaction to this piece by the John Lithium ‘plunderphonics’ side-project (HELPER UNIT). Submission Guidelines:
-This compilation will be presented and distributed through BandCamp, so their file type restrictions apply: .WAV/.FLAC files, 44.1 KHz.
–Composition length should be anywhere from one to ten minutes in length. We can be flexible with how much over ten minutes the track goes, but please make the track longer than a minute.
–PLEASE only submit a track that is EXCLUSIVE to this compilation. If you feel that remixing one of your older works with newer material and the “Attention K-Mart Shoppers” material is the way to go, that is perfectly fine, but if you do so, please provide a link to the album that the original track came from so I can link to it in the track description page.
–PLEASE clearly label/ tag tracks with the desired artist and track titles. If this is a side-project and you usually go under a different moniker, let me know that to so I can make note of that.
-You can send the track and relevant info to: jlithiumflux@gmail.com. Please use WeTransfer or something similar. i also have a DropBox, though you might have to remind me on how to use it. :3
–One track per band/musician, please.

I will be providing graphic design for this release, although if you would like to contribute digital art to this project or to accompany your project, let me know (as long as it fits the theme of the compilation). THE TENTATIVE DEADLINE FOR THIS COMPILATION IS FEBRUARY 29, 2016. The absolute minimum amount of submissions I would like for this compilation is 10, although if I could get 15 – 20 that would be great. If you need a little more time, let me know, but the current goal is to release this compilation early January.

Hopefully that covers everything. I will be checking my emails and messages daily, so if you have any other questions, etc, feel free to ask. Also, if you know anyone who might dig this idea and/or would be interested in contributing, feel free to share etc.

I.V. Martinez (of TOTAL E.T., mutanT.R.I., T.R.I.v.M., and more) returns to Argali Records under a new guise: “exMAn”. Under this pseudonym, Argali is proud to present: “Fogitive (Alien Abducted Drum Machine – The Album)”, and yes, the album is as the album title describes it. Contained within this release are two extended long-form compositions, featuring live drum machine improvisation over the T.R.I.v.M. album “Fog Music 18” (auralfilms.bandcamp.com/album/fog-music-18), featuring seething beds of unsettling atmospheric ambience, obscured alien incantations, and industrialized sub-drones. Twitching and pulsating, this music quickly shifts from form to form as it burrows from the listeners ears into their psyche. Thus, your only choice is to let exMAn abduct you into this strange alien journey. A harrowing journey perhaps, but also one of complex sophistication as well.

ARGALI RECORDS NETLABEL PRESENTS
TIME WILL PASS

Argali Records Netlabel is now accepting submissions for the “The Road Ahead” compilation. For this project, we are primarily looking for experimental electronica, avant-garde music, industrial, IDM/glitch, audio collage (especially if it utilizes ephemeral material and/or Creative Commons licensed work), and similar permutations of these genres.  We also accept noise, but please no harsh wall noise (we are big fans of dynamics and compositional evolution). While the above-listed styles are our main focus, we are not limiting submissions to these directions. When in doubt, send in a song and we will tell you what we think about it. If you need examples about what we are all about, first feel free to check out our previous compilation “Time Will Pass”. In addition, feel free to not only check out our releases on Argali, as well as those of our allied net-label friends at Timetheory, Clinical Archives, Treetrunk, etc.

Submission Guidelines:
We are looking for songs/compositions/soundscapes ranging from one to ten minutes in length. One song per band/musician, please. Preferably unreleased and/or new material when possible. We accept .MP3 or .WAV format files (.WAV being preferred so that the file can be transcoded into other formats). IMPORTANT: Sound files MUST be AT LEAST 192kbps .mp3 format or higher/comparable, 320kbps or higher greatly preferred. (Lower bitrates will NOT be accepted). Argali Records Netlabel (via John Lithium’s “Lithium Industries” Soundcloud site) has a DropBox one can use to submit tracks. Alternatively, one can use YouSendIt to send the track to c h a n d l e r n [a t] g m a i l [d o t] c o m. These methods are the preferred methods for getting your music to us. If you’d like to utilize a different way, get in touch either through WordPress or email and I’ll see what we can do. IMPORTANT: When you submit your song, please be sure to clearly label your file with your project/song name. If you have a site/Soundcloud/etc, feel free to include that as well. We will be including an ‘band/musician’ list in the linear notes and/or graphic design of the finished project.

There is no concrete deadline for when submissions can be submitted. We will be accepting submissions continuously, and will begin promoting the project further when an acceptable/sizable amount of submissions have been collected. Though this will most likely will not be an issue, Argali Records reserves the right to reject any submission for any reason (when in doubt, ask…we don’t bite) and we also reserve the right to volume master songs that are too loud (note that this will probably not be an issue, as we are talking unbelievably loud/unlistenably loud levels of volume).

Pictures/Art: We are also accepting graphics/art submissions for this compilation as well. Augment your auditory experience with a visual component! In terms of what we will NOT accept, see above (basically no overly graphic/political material etc), but in terms of what we WILL accept we are basically saying almost anything goes here (especially since this is the first time the graphic design of the release was not either handled in house or by one specific individual). While Argali releases graphics usually are around 1500×1500 or 3000×1500 (basically ‘cd booklet/cover’ format), we will accept smaller or larger images (as long as it’s larger than a thumbnail and smaller than a two-bedroom apartment). Images can be sent to the email listed above, the same basic rules apply (clearly label the file, etc).

Conceptual Food For Thought: No specific theme. The title “The Road Ahead” was mainly selected as being forward looking following the previous compilations theme of “Time Will Pass”, focused (at least conceptually) on the 2012 ‘apocalypse fear’ (and subsequent time afterwords).

Just in time for Cinco De Mayo, Argali Records plunges headfirst into the strange and fascinating world of twisted plunderphonic collage soundscapes with this short, but sweet EP by Luxurious Dagger.

Appropriated (or should that be ‘liberated’ instead) from the detritus of a turbulent pop culture ocean, “Glue Factory” is a deliriously miasma fusion of ephemeral proclamations and percussive elements, bent and twisted to shift uneasily around the psyche of the listener. Will easily appeal to fans of The Residents, Nurse With Wound, Negativland, very early Foetus, Contgaious Orgasm, Snog, and Severed Heads.

Marvin Ferguson, of the projects Luxurious Dagger (luxuriousdagger.bandcamp.com/), a self-titled project (http://marvinferguson.bandcamp.com/), and the group Fag Rabbit (http://fagrabbit.bandcamp.com/), deftly mixes the playfully surreal with the hypnotically esoteric on this release.

Music that’ll make you want more.
You’ll really like it.

Argali Records is proud to present our first compilation: “Time Will Pass”. While there is no specific ‘theme’ for this collection, initially a text was written by John Lithium explaining some of the concepts around the ‘time will pass’ set of ideas (namely, the permeability of time, the impermanence of fixed events and objects, and the subjective nature of sensory experience) [more on this can be found at the original post here: http://johnlithium.com/2012/04/28/now-accepting-submissions-for-the-time-will-pass-compilation-on-argali-records-netlabel/]. As with many long gestating projects, the ultimate focus is on the music.

Thus, we present to you, the listener, an eclectic mix of otherworldly textures, jazz-inflected jams, dub turntabalism, foreboding dark ambient soundscapes, avant-garde industrial revelations, and blistering noise fury. Instead of focusing our hearts and minds on the banality of ‘unavoidable catastrophic occurrences’ (and how we still manage to pass through unscathed), let’s turn towards the future, with auditory expressions equal parts introspection and extraversion. “TIME WILL PASS”.
